The family of Victoria Jones, the daughter of Oscar-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones, have released a brief statement following her tragic death.
Jones is the second child of The Fugitive star and his first wife, Kimberlea Cloughley, with whom he also shares a son, Austin Jones, 43. TMZ, citing a number of law enforcement sources, initially reported that the 34-year-old was discovered in a hotel room in the early hours of New Year’s Day (January 1).
The San Francisco Fire Department later confirmed to People that they had responded to a medical emergency at the San Francisco Fairmont just before 3am local time, confirming that a then-unnamed individual was found dead at the scene.
The San Francisco Police Department additionally confirmed that they met with paramedics and declared an unnamed adult female dead, while NBC also reported that a police source told the outlet that the woman found dead at the hotel was believed to be Victoria Jones.
In light of the news breaking, the family have given a statement to Rolling Stone, thanking people for their well wishes. “We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers,” they said. “Please respect our privacy during this difficult time.”
She appeared with her father in a number of his movies during her childhood, including Men In Black II and in a film directed by Tommy Lee, The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada in 2005. She also appeared in the noughties TV series One Tree Hill.
Victoria had not worked as an actress since minor roles in her childhood, but occasionally attended red carpet events with her father. In 2017, she appeared with him at the ArcLight Hollywood for the premiere of his movie Just Getting Started, which also starred Morgan Freeman and Rene Russo.
Her father is best known for his roles in a host of Hollywood blockbusters, including Men In Black, No Country For Old Men, Captain America: The First Avenger, Jason Bourne and The Fugitive, for which he won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.
