A newsroom behind your station
Wowzaradio produces centrally managed, AI-assisted spoken news and local weather for eligible station players. Our administrators handle news production and publishing, so members can focus on their own programmes—not running a separate newsroom.
News supports your human hosts and off-air coverage. It does not replace editorial judgment or guarantee factual accuracy.
- Who controls production?

- Who receives it?

Useful coverage. Clear responsibility.
Source-backed bulletins
Recent, linked stories with named publishers. Source details remain available to staff alongside the script.
Administrator editorial control
Staff can edit scripts, preview voiced drafts, approve publication and remove bulletins. Automatic-draft review is configurable.
Local weather
Station location informs weather coverage. Incomplete observations are rejected rather than presented as plausible readings.
English & Hindi production
Staff can prepare editions with voice choices, presenter identity, pronunciation notes and station introductions.
Scheduling with safeguards
Generation intervals, quiet hours and freshness limits help staff manage availability. Actual playback follows listening breaks.
Your music keeps moving
Optional-news failures do not stop the underlying station audio. Music-only listening skips news and weather; ad-free listening still excludes sponsor spots.
Included where it belongs
News and weather are included with Starter, Creator, Pro and Network. Existing prices and plan limits remain unchanged.
Hobbyist requires its own writing and speech keys, including when using the existing $1.99/month AI News & Weather add-on. That add-on does not supply network AI access.
Compare hosting plansBroadcast tools for our team
The administrator library includes audio preview, measured duration, and MP3 plus transcript/source downloads. Staff can target 30-, 60- or 120-second formats; actual duration is shown after production.
Downloads support separate workflows; automatic mixing into external OBS streams, FTP delivery and traffic reporting are not included claims.
Radio news service: your questions answered
What is the Wowzaradio radio news service?
A centrally managed service that produces AI-assisted spoken news bulletins and local weather for eligible Wowzaradio station players. Administrators manage production; station owners do not need to write or record news.
Can members create or publish their own bulletins?
No. News selection, production, review and scheduling remain with Wowzaradio administrators and staff. Members retain their existing station news and weather preferences.
Is radio news included in my hosting plan?
News and weather are included with Starter, Creator, Pro and Network. Hobbyist is not included by default: the existing AI News & Weather add-on is $1.99/month, and Hobbyist members must still supply their own writing and speech keys. The add-on does not supply network AI access.
Does every bulletin receive human review?
Staff-created newsroom drafts require approval before publication. Administrators can also enable review for automatically generated drafts. The existing automatic service remains available; not every automatic bulletin is manually reviewed unless that setting is enabled.
Are English and Hindi bulletins available?
The administrator newsroom offers English and Hindi production choices. Staff select and publish editions; availability depends on current sources and successful audio production. A language choice is not a promise of a continuously available regional feed.
Does news play exactly on the hour?
No. Administrators configure generation intervals and scheduled publication. Playback depends on the station player and listening breaks. Programmed music waits for song boundaries; administrators control whether news and weather may interrupt live streams.
Will news automatically appear in my outgoing OBS stream?
News delivery uses Wowzaradio listening players. It is not a claim that news is mixed into your outgoing OBS or external encoder stream. Staff can download newsroom MP3 audio and transcripts for separate broadcasting workflows.
How are sources and weather handled?
Eligible news stories need a named source, article link and recent timestamp. Generated bulletins name their sources and identify as AI-assisted. Weather uses station location and provider observations; missing readings are not turned into zero and failed postal-code lookup does not silently substitute another city.
